There's a scene that sum up the MC well and it's one that he dives to catch a coin at great danger to himself. It's not a special coin, he's not THAT in need of money and it's not even like a 100$ bill but a dollar, he doesn't need to do it. Which sane human person does that??? I may have worded his character badly but there's multiple lines in the first chapter that talks abt his money hoarding problem to the point of him wondering if there's high risk ways of earning money and having a book full of laws given by his friend so he wouldn't break laws because of his obsession with money Why did you continue reading if you didn't like that? It's okay not to like it but you kind of put this on yourself if you read it till chapter 180

When he's introduced as obsessed with money I'm thinking he's the type to have the brains to earn said money but it turns out bro is mentally ill level of obsession. It's not the conclusion any reader would go to that a "mc who loves money" would literally risk his life for 1 DOLLAR you have to admit risking his entire life for 1 dollar is retarded and it sets the tone of how smart his actions are going to be from then on MC has NO self preservation and if it wasn't for deus ex asspulls he'll be dead by chapter 80

Any normal reader would actually see that's mentally ill and would risk his life for a bit of money because they can read You not being able to read shouldn't be the author's fault, it's stated multiple times that he would risk his life for money and you kept reading That's just how the main character is and how the story goes. Once again you brought this onto yourself by reading a whole 180 chapters of it

All of these points to doing criminal things for money. No sane reader would know he's stupid and insane enough to risk his life for 1 dollar until they see it happening. How is it my fault? If without context you go ask other people they'll think the same. I know he would risk his life for money. But in the quote you say it appears like high risk high return. What actually happened is not like that at all. Being insane is fine. Being insane and stupid is a bad MC

He's not necessarily stupid, he's canonically really intelligent. The word you're looking for is 'rational' probably but sadly insane and rational don't go together as they contradict each other. Insane people do irrational things
