although there is a slight mix of styles when you translation from english literature to Chinese literature, the translation is still really great --- From as far as I've read, most of the phrases do match up with their chinese counterpart, although there is some variation among some (its expected) ------ Don't worry though, the novel has been translated by professionals, most errors would be non-existent, most phrases would have been re-phrased into English in a way that makes sense. ------ Translation itself doesn't get into the way of reading although the change of styles might, give it a try, it's a complex novel that is very intricate, and the literature within it, it is better than some native English written novels

you think a novel with bad translation will be top 2 for over a year with a 4.8 rating out of hundrets

Hello new reader, don’t worry too much about translation. IMO it’s pretty good although compared to the official CN version it’s lackluster however PEAK IS PEAK don’t worry too much. (Machine translation makes your standards lower anyway 😭) good luck on your reading journey! (Good to see that this community’s healing)

Don’t try to read it in one go, but don’t skip either… vol 1 is pretty long but only bc it lays the ground work for the rest of the book.

Vol1 is 200+ chps. So don't force just read leisurely.

It's gets way better. It's just extremely slow paced in the beginning. You should get hooked by ch.50. Btw it's tags include action and mystery. Expecting action isn't a problem, it's just that in the beginning action and mystery don't go hand in hand. Deal with it and you'll get the best of both worlds. I guarantee you'll get addicted by the end of the first volume.

If you stop anticipating action and whatnot things and just read and immerse in current events then you won't feel boring. Also in next 10 chps something good will happen. And another things pacing of vol1 which is 200+ chps would be same so read leisurely, not need force yourself read fast to get some exciting things. This the best way to read LoTM. You have to immerse yourself in the present without thinking the future. . Don't worry most of people get hooked after 30chps. Pacing of vol1 would be same. Vol1 will give you lot of info but u don't have understand or remember them, u will be reminded about it later when needed. Vol1 has heavy slice of life elements so enjoy it. Don't expect too much action or thrills from vol1. But there's more than enough action available.
