Summary

Princess Leah wrote a suicide note ahead of her wedding.

It was because she was certain that she would die after the wedding night; a miserable end of a princess who devoted her life to the country and to the royal family.

But before giving up her life, Leah planned her last revenge to the family, one that would surely leave them in ruins even after she became a cold corpse.

She would bring them shame by being a non-virgin bride.

“Why did you throw away your first experience? Don’t you just want to run away?”

“I… I want to die.” Leah impulsively confided to the man she slept with for one night.

My Poison taste test: If you hate abuse, you should probably skip this novel, or any Josei novels in general. Sm*t scenes were good, and all were consensual, so no abuse on that front. FL, Leah, isn't some damsel in distress and she isn't dumb/timid, just unlucky and everything is out of her control. ML, Ishakan, is a chad, he isnt the *b*s*r. I liked the story a lot, the world is also fleshed out pretty well. The story had its ups and downs with the abuse Leah suffered through, at times it was tough to read through (this being my first Josei Novel, I didn't realize abuse would be so apparent). I'd recommend this novel to everyone but people like me who have a weak heart to abuse of 'any kind.' I doubt I'll read another Josei novel though, I heard this one was pretty tame with the abuse, but it was still a lot for me.

I can't believe the sheer amount of G slurs. FL calls them by the slur, ML calls them by their proper name, but he never corrects FL. When the group of people are talked about in 3rd POV the author calls them the G slur. It's disappointing that it's allowed.

slurs exist for a reason, and in this novel it is 100% deserved.

Defending slurs for any reason is an absolutely outrageous stance to take.

I braved this a while back. It's a weird story and the female leads suicidal streak from the description isn't explained well as it's not entirely in her control. Honestly the story isn't bad nor great kind of a middle area.

It makes me angry that there are people who give random novels 5 stars and then say Lotm is slow, 3 stars 😞
