Just my opinion: 4/10 The author dwells too much on the small details, and in many places, it reads almost like a daily journal instead of a story. You normally are trying to pack in the story and events within a certain amount of chapters, so you don't want to use up space on how meals changed, what became favorite foods, boring aspects of daily training, and so on.

I typically have between 10-15 novels pending I. my library waiting g for updats and this read has quickly become my favorite. The bare bones basics needed for a good read are a good plot, well developed characters, and sound writing style. I'd say this has all 3 in heaps. I genuinely enjoy the characters as they are written and as their interpersonal relationships develope, especially mc's summons. It's a great mix of lighter dialogue with more intricate story weaving. It stays light and believable even though there are no major setbacks yet. The author had alluded that there will be more trials in the future though in several paragraphs with heavy foreshadowing. I'm looking forward to this asi feel it will help develop the plot even more. All-in-all I'd 100% recommend this to anyone that's looking for a fun read that isn't so dark or intense.

I love a good tamer story, but this is way too fantastical. I'm 120ish chapters in, and the main character has suffered no adversity. Everything's easy, his teachers try to solve all his problems for him. Nobody is seriously jealous of him, he has no ambitions besides getting stronger, and he has no enemies. All this despite the fact that he loves in an authoritarian dictatorship that nobody dislikes, simply because they're are monsters that can kill them, and the government stops that... I guess? This is basically a slice of life novel pretending it isn't. I haven't checked out any of the newer novels on the site, but after trying this, I'm open to recommendations.

I rejoined site after almost a year of just reading MTL via google translate, surprised how many stories i used to like have gone down in ranking, cant tell if ranking has gotten worse or if stories are less reliable

The scene has definitely changed a lot. Some novels finished, leaving avenues for new ones to take their place. There’s just lots of new right now and there’s a lot of stuff being replaced or made new again.

Ive come back with a review after catching up Story: 8.5/10 - It’s a refreshing twist to all the villain heavy story plots and “Your courting death!” (Not to say those aren’t classics) but it really fits well into the overall movement. Pacing: 7.8/10 - Could be higher but the author likes to really draw out moments in the story to make it more realistic which is understandable but sometimes it gets out of hand Cast: 10/10 - All the characters are really thought out, the interactions feel real and the connection between Karl and the beasts, the beasts between each other and their overall interaction with the side cast is really nice to see. Fights: 9/10 - Not much to say, it’s really nice to see cuz u can see this was thought out Overall worth the 4.2 rating.

Dropping at 250+ chapter, the way things happened is just too fast for it to become plausible. A 14 year old boy who grew up from a mine, within less than half a year, became okay with killing, became knowledgeable in almost all important areas may it be combat, diplomacy, flirting and tactics. overtook his teacher and became a commander and is just suddenly excellent at it with just a few words of advise. The author could have at least build up that his gaining knowledge, a time skip here and there, he barely attended any lessons during his few weeks at school his pets were just dope up with resource because the world is just that generous for him. And the force harem even in just a friendly level is disgusting, sad how most authors here a h*rny mentally teenage man with polyamorous fantasy. Anyways such a shame, I really enjoyed the first parts and I really like this genre. If anyone knows a similar story done more maturely and realistically please drop it.

Honestly not too late for the author to get rid of harem tag. Just slap the beautiful female lead on there and good to go.

Only by chapter 300 of the book I realized that this and the previous book of the author take place in the same universe. The author is trying to build a complex universe that would really work. His work in "Reincarnated With A Summoning System" was lighter and more adventurous, and here he is trying to reveal more serious topics and issues. Such as the ethics of war and mass conflicts. If you look not at the history of the characters, but at the history of the development of the universe - it is very interesting. As for the plot itself - it is quite formulaic. Talent Academy, war # 1 war # 2 the main character is always ahead of everyone. In the previous book, the hero never encountered serious obstacles on his way, did not lose anything significant as in the same Shadow Slave - he just linearly became stronger. This is not the author's strong point, in my opinion, but it is written without rejection of the characters, and this is already good.

TBH this is the first time I would say that the MC is TOO SMART. He’s literally raised from the mines.it doesnt make sense that he’s able to read an advanced book about animal husbandry and differentiate the different fauna and flora. Atleast have him attend classes first. Also it would have made more sense had he been reincarnated if he was going to be this smart. The hawk was too smart too. It acts like a dumb grown teenager one fay after being hatched. The hell. Also things are too normal.

When he can help them learn skills from others and boost their insight. The hint given that not only is he sharing things with them they are sharing things with him, it is noticed by a nature cleric that he is getting affected not in a bad way but also him figuring out it was a test was due to how it was set up plus hawk was a natural predator to those monsters of course if you place a predator where they naturally can find their prey they will notice. Infact the way they affect him seems to be growing more and more with each rank of power, the class could not only serve as I way of strength but an understanding between man and beast.

Okay so to address all of your points and it is further explained the more you read or at least hinted at, the serum itself makes humans superhuman, they literally have things called skillbooks where if the person could learn the skill they learn it entirely just by the intent to open it. So he learned about the different plants and such because it is needed for his own "class" he then has a skill which further enhances that aspect where he can identify plants, ores that will be beneficial to his beasts. Also even in the mines he was seen by other workers as the smarter of the lot, as I'd said when he was told to make a report etc. and the comment about how good it was and how he understood the situation well was. Hawk for all intents and purposes even in real life are smarter than most average beasts and they further mutate with the environment and he theorized that his class helps improve the beasts intelligence further which is proven.

Uhh what? Your statement itself explains how he's able to do it though? He's reading books specifically about a subject and thus he's able to identify said things... Isn't that... Normal? Also they don't live on some medieval era of ignorance, there's trains and electricity and schools. Karl was a student at a school until he was 14, so ofcourse he has the basic human ability to read and comprehend. That's not "too smart" by any measure whatsoever. "At least have him attend classes" again, he was assigned a special instructor for his education and he is reading books given by said instructor whose job is to educate him. That IS attending classes. As for Hawk being too smart for a newborn bird, yes I agree with that. Though it would probably be excused by some "it's because of his class, his beasts get smarter than average wild beasts" thing if this question was raised to the author. And for the normalcy - it is explained and a lot of stuff will happen once they start their missions.

Yes but thats just the basic stuff. What I’m really talking about is how he knows it’s a test from the start when they walked up to the school. Everything that happened in the entrance exam. Not a single flinch killing everything. Etc. his thought process doesnt indicate anything about his backround. It doesnt indicate anything at all just a mirror of iis current environment and authors limited imagination. It’s okay i dropped cause it’s too lifeless for me tbh.

Seems more like you have a set of biases about how every single person should be and having someone show situational awareness as a 14 year old is too much for you. That's not too outlandish for a person to have it tbh but if you don't like it because it is unacceptable to your brain then that's fair enough. Hope you find books more suited to your taste. Have fun.

Considering what kind of place and environment he was born the logic is there that he's "mature" for his age. Also, the serum was discovered a few years in the current timeline so it's relatively new and before and even now they're still at war so the setting checks out. Maybe we just got used to other "protagonist" who's either smart in other areas or dumb, dump, clueless, dense, pl*yb*y, and more that this type of stuff can be very questionable for our taste
