Update as of Chapter 781: A solid trashy novel, perfect for passing time. The character development and world-building are surprisingly good, adding depth to the story. However, the plot feels like a Bermuda Triangle—messy, unpredictable, and occasionally nonsensical. It’s entertaining if you don’t take it too seriously, making it a fun, guilty pleasure read.
Guys if you find errors and maybe some plot holes when reading here it’s because they haven’t been corrected like in the WebNovel version. Please read there if you arent just too financially strained to support the Author 🙏
Can someone help me? I stopped reading this novel for over a year now and want to pick it up again cuz there is just nothing else to read. Can someone please tell me which chapter was the one where he dressed up his workers then sent them to the war on the order of the henali? I don't really recall the details but that should be the chapter that I dropped the novel.
Peak novel
I’m up to date with The Innkeeper (Chapter 1409) and wanted to share my thoughts. Overall, I recommend it. While it’s a cultivation novel with familiar tropes, it often uses them for comedy rather than relying on clichés like “eat a pill, slap a young lord, fight his family.” The Inn serves as an excellent central plot device, enabling smooth transitions between adventures while logically supporting the MC’s growth. Most events have explanations, maintaining suspension of disbelief. The novel excels at epic moments—when the MC is serious, the tension feels earned. The comedic elements are genuinely enjoyable, and the MC, while flawed, feels well-rounded. The writing is solid; slow chapters exist but rarely detract from the overall story. There’s no shallow harem trope, and the potential FML has depth. Side characters are fun and meaningful. It’s not perfect, but it’s absolutely worth the read. If you have questions, feel free to ask!
romance? also when does lex get his tumor fixed.
When I began to read this book I was wondering why in the hell it was outside of the top 10. The longer it has progressed the more I find my eyes rolling at simple overlooks of the author and his ability to drag an arc entirely too long. The MC personality has gotten worse and he essentially no different from the typical 3rd generational young master archetype. Almost everything he has is either given to him by the system or some super plot armor from the writer. Yet his disposition is as if he’s earned it with his own two hands. The gross disrespect to extreme high level beings will never make sense in any novel. Every last one of them to get to their position are apex predators. In any logical sense they would just thump him crushing his entire being. Waiting on whatever mysterious backing he has to address them afterwards. And in this case it would be no one so he’d be dead just like every other amazing person from hubris. Ultimately this book is tolerable but slowly gets worse.
My favourite novel
Read till the latest. Loved it. It's everything I wanted in a novel. I like how author explores everything there is to light novels. I'm stacking for now and will be back after another 100 chaps.
Don't recommend! Early on the author makes a point about not being cliché, yet not even 100 chapters in and the story gets convoluted in every possibly way and it only gets worse. 0/5
